Karen Self, Seton’s varsity coach for the girls’ basketball team, is featured in this month’s “Heroes” section of 202 magazine. The former Sun Devil standout just finished her 20th season with Seton’s Sentinels. Her time there has served the school well, the article reported. The girls have racked up 500 wins and six state championships under her leadership.

- A short announcement about Christ the King Elementary also appeared in the June issue of 202 Magazine. The Mesa school was voted runner up to Seton in the private elementary school category of a “Best of East Valley” reader poll. The Catholic Sun posted the same news item in April.
- Nancy Elam, an alumna of Bourgade Catholic High School, was the first female Motorcycle Police Officer with the City of Phoenix. She was featured in a photo in The Arizona Republic June 7 which reported the reopening of the Phoenix Police Museum.
