Knights of Columbus Fr. Douglas J. Nohava Council 1229 in Flagstaff supports two individuals through the Knight’s Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP), one of which is Dominican Sister Rene Noel, the daughter of one of the council’s members. On Aug 24, Council 1229 hosted a pot-luck dinner to honor Sr. Rene Noel on her last night home before returning to the Mother House of her Order, Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist located in Ann Arbor Michigan.
She visited briefly with her family after taking her First (Temporary) Vows on Aug, 2. Upon return to Michigan, she started college to study Elementary Education with an emphasis in reading yesterday. She will study for her teaching certificate so that she is prepared to teach in a school setting. She will renew her Vows in three years and will take her Final (Perpetual) Vows in five years.
