Catholics throughout the Diocese of Phoenix, whether on their own accord, through a classroom “Adopt-A-Seminarian” effort, Serra Club membership or something else, often keep their seminarians in prayer.
The young men themselves are constantly in prayer too. Only God knows what’s fully on their hearts, but Kevin Penkalski, a Phoenix seminarian studying at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver, said it’s not uncommon to find a seminarian seeking out one of at least half a dozen semi-private prayer chapels within its main chapel. They kneel in prayer for a variety of reasons.
Kevin explains one possible reason seminarians enter the St. Joseph Chapel.
