Stories of Forgiveness, Reconciliation, and Repair
A Bowl of Endless (Perfect) Light, a story of creation/recreation as the foundation for the process of Forgiveness, Reconciliation (Mutual forgive-ness), Restoration and Repair (Tikkum Olam, the Jewish understanding of repairing the world, our souls, relationships and institutions. It is a mixture of undoing the harm done (both to us by others, and we ourselves), and filling up what is lacking — restoring wholeness/holiness.
We will use stories from around the world, and the Scriptures. There will be reflection, discussion (one-on-one and in the larger group, back and forth with me). The group will do the theology with the Word of the Scriptures, and stories to get folks wondering, asking questions, and responding with one another for conversion and new ways of forgiving, reconciling, restoring holiness and repairing our world. There will be a number of stories from Indigenous traditions since I have been working with and learning from tribes in the NW of Canada over the last four years, and stories from around the world, too. Come visit your soul, others’ souls, and the mystery of ‘endless light’!
Fee, incl. lunch: $75 per person. Pre-registration required.
