A Brush with God” icon painting retreat returns to the Casa with Peter Pearson leading us through the process of creating this image in the folk style of Byzantine iconography. We’ll pray, follow step-by-step instructions, and learn about the history and spirituality of this ancient art form. During this workshop, we’ll pray especially for the people of Ukraine. No previous experience or innate talent is required. All materials are provided. Please join us!
We work Thursday evening after dinner, Friday evening after dinner, all day Saturday (9 am – 4 pm), and half-day Sunday (1 – 4 pm). There will be additional times available to work on a second icon for those who are interested. This is completely optional.

Peter Pearson, MDIV and ThD
Peter Pearson is a nationally known icon painter, a retreat leader, and a teacher. Over the years he has read nearly everything that Thomas Merton has written. Peter holds both an M. Div., a Th. D., and has lived in two Benedictine monasteries. Like Merton, Peter is also a spiritual seeker and guide on the journey.
