Come and learn about this unique and holy place with Martha Valukas, OCDS
One year after our Blessed Mother appeared to St. Bernadette Soubirous in Lourdes, France, the Mother of our Savior came to the United States in the same humble way, appearing 3 times in 2 days near Green Bay, Wisconsin. The year was 1859. Our Blessed Mother spoke to a young Belgian woman by the name of Adele Brise. The message that the Queen of Heaven gave to Adele is just as much and even more relevant now than it was in those early years of our nation. You will be filled with renewed purpose and hope as you reflect upon Mary’s message for She is our Mother, our Queen, and a heavenly visitor sent by God’s loving concern for us. In his encyclical, Mother of the Redeemer, Pope Saint John Paul II eloquently describes what our National Shrine has come to be: This is a place “of pilgrimage where the People of God seek to meet the Mother of God in order to find, within the radius of the Maternal presence of her who believed, a strengthening of their own faith. For in Mary’s faith, first at the Annunciation and then fully at the foot of the Cross, an interior space was reopened within humanity which the eternal Father can fill with every spiritual blessing.” (28) Come to hear about the interior space opened in Champion, Wisconsin, which God has filled with every spiritual and physical blessing.
