Compassionate Communication: Core Concepts and Practices

October 10 @ 6:30 pm - November 7 @ 8:30 pm

$100.

Christine Dove, MSW

5 session program – October 10, 17, 24, 31 and November 7, 2024

Seeking kindness and acceptance in your relationships while authentically articulating your views, feelings, and needs?
Wanting to be able to listen deeply with genuine understanding to “hard to hear” messages?

At its heart, Nonviolent Communication is a process that grounds us in self-compassion and compassion toward others without condoning behavior not in alignment with our values.

In this 5-session course, you will learn the 4-step process that promotes more connection in our everyday family and work lives. You will learn how to use it when you or another is angry and/or overwhelmed. The aim is to maintain connection which offsets the separation and alienation of the “them and us” mindset.

The first 3 of 5 classes will include formal presentation, class discussion, and interactive activities in dyads or small groups. Sessions 4 and 5 will be devoted to bringing what you’ve learned daily life— practicing in a safe space.

It is strongly recommended that participants read before classes begin either or both: “Nonviolent Communications: A Language of Life,” by Marshall Rosenberg, PhD and “Being Genuine: Stop Being Nice and Start Being Real,” by Thomas d’ Ansembour

Fee: $100 per person for all 5 sessions. Pre-registration required.
