Evangelizing basketball fans
April 5 - April 8
A team of specially trained, volunteer evangelizers will be stationed in front of St. Mary’s Basilica April 5-8 as basketball fans flood downtown Phoenix. That’s because the NCAA Final Four Basketball Tournament takes place in Phoenix this year and a fan event at the Phoenix Convention Center will attract myriad sports fans.
Priests will be on hand to hear confessions and a prayer team will be available to pray with anyone who requests it. Volunteers will give away blessed rosaries, crucifix necklaces, holy cards and pamphlets.
