Faith & Science Night: Round Table Discussion on Creation
Saturday, July 8 | 5:30 to 6:30 pm | Free
New format for Faith & Science Night! Round table discussion! The topic of Creation has often been addressed by scientists and theologians affiliated with the Vatican Observatory. We will learn and discuss the following topics:
• The term Creation has various meanings. There are various interpretations of the “Big Bang” – Creation out of Nothing or “Creatio ex Nihilo” that include or exclude a Creator.
• Also, there is the concept of Continuing Creation with a Creator involved being both Transcendent and Immanent – “Creatio Continua”
• What is critical to understand is the difference between a purely physical concept of Creation – the Big Bang Theory using Quantum Cosmology as proposed by Steven Hawking, and a Christian concept of Divine Creation with a Creator as the “cause” of Creation.
• Finally, the Concept of Divine Creation leads to a Trinitarian concept of Creation including the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
Bring your family and friends and share what you know and learn at your table.
