Divine Creation and the Big Bang – Creatio ex Nihilo
The “Specola Vaticana”, the Vatican Observatory, was reestablished by Pope Leo XIII in 1891 to proclaim the truth that the Church is not opposed to science and that we embrace it, encourage it, and promote it.
The evening’s presentation will explain that the concepts of “Divine Creation – Creatio Ex Nihilo”, and “Quantum Cosmology – the Big Bang Theory”, are compatible. They provide complementary – not contradictory – explanations for physical reality.
Cosmology provides a description and an explanation of the different epochs of cosmic history, where Divine Creation provides the ground and ultimate explanation for the universe’s existence and order.
