A program presented in partnership with the Franciscan School of Theology
“The Humility of St. Francis”
Jesus tells us “Learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart” (Matthew 11:29). Humility is a virtue, but most of us don’t want to have anything to do with it. St. Francis, on the other hand, embraced humility as a way of life, beginning with renunciation of his family’s wealth in order to live in voluntary poverty. In this talk, we will explore the meaning of true humility, share stories about the humility of Francis, and connect humility to God’s love demonstrated in the Incarnation.
No fee and no registration required. Program will be in the Garces room in Piper Hall.
