Invitation to the 2025 Jubilee Pilgrimage to Rome, Italy Feb. 18-27, 2025
Calling All Pilgrims,
We especially encourage pilgrims from Phoenix and the surrounding areas to join us on this sacred journey. Since our departure will be from Sky Harbor Airport, we hope to recruit pilgrims from across the Diocese of Phoenix, fostering a greater sense of unity and shared purpose in our local community.
You are invited to Rome, the heart of our faith, for the 2025 Jubilee! A Jubilee year, as called for in the Bible, is a time of special rejoicing marked by forgiveness, meant to bring glory to God through celebration and renewal. This pilgrimage is a profound gift of mercy, and God is inviting us to take part in it.
Accompanied by Bishop Gerald Kicanas, we will walk in the footsteps of Saint Peter, Saint Paul, and the martyrs, gaining wisdom from their unwavering faith. We will experience the opening of the Holy Doors, an event that only happens every 25 years during a jubilee. Along the way, every pilgrim enriches the journey, reminding us that we belong to a much larger, faith-filled community.
This pilgrimage is not only an opportunity to see the reality of Christ’s church in the heart of Rome but also a spiritual quest to grow closer to God. We are called to seek forgiveness, renew our commitment to holiness, and unite in prayer for personal and communal renewal. Our experiences will strengthen the bonds of faith among us, becoming a testament to God’s love and mercy. I urge you to pray on this calling to pilgrimage to Rome. Together, we can open our hearts to God, be His instruments for good, and uplift our families and communities through faith.
May God’s grace guide us on this journey and fill our hearts with His everlasting love.
