Good Grief: Protecting Our Own Well-Being When Experiencing Loss!
We all experience many kinds of loss (e.g. possessions, jobs, hopes, health, and our loved ones).
This workshop examines how we can address loss, and ultimately our grief, in ways that promote healing and well-being for ourselves and others, including an exploration of the many myths of grief, and some universal elements of healthy grieving, with a goal of understanding that while grief is inevitable, suffering is optional.
“Protecting Our Own Well-Being in Challenging Times” consists of five half-day workshops (see below) designed to build attendees’ knowledge and skills in attaining sustainable life balance and awakened decision-making amidst the many distractions and stressors that bombard us in tumultuous times. Workshops are presented in didactic and experiential formats that include both group engagement and highly-individualized attention, and utilize a framework addressing five dimensions of well-being: physical comfort, mental ease, emotional balance, social connectedness, and spiritual lightness. As a core value in each session, every effort will be made to ensure a “safe space” for attendees to participate in a manner that is responsive to their needs and interests. While the workshop series provides a continuum of five major areas of focus, each session can also be attended as a single, independent event with specific content and intended outcomes.
The five half-day workshops are as follows:
I. Compassion Fatigue: Self-Care When Life is Disrupted! – February 8, 2025
II. Life Interrupted: Self-Care When Things Fall Apart! – March 8, 2025

IV. Mindfulness: Being Present Amidst Chaos! – May 3, 2025
