What can we learn from St. Francis and St. Clare?
St. Francis (1181-1226) and St. Clare (1194-1253) of Assisi have influenced the world for over 800 years. In this retreat, some of the writings of these two saints will be explored.
St. Francis wrote for his community. He shared guidance, advice, and insights into spiritual life with the brothers who surrounded him.
St. Clare is known to have written five writings: The Rule, as a form of life for the Poor Ladies, and four letters to Blessed Agnes of Prague.
Both saints wrote in the context of their time. What might their writings say to us today in the context of our time and lives?
