A program in partnership with the Franciscan School of Theology
As followers of Francis and Clare of Assisi, we have a unique contribution to make to the worldwide process of synodality for discerning a path forward for the Church in the 21st century. The process becomes difficult since relationships in our Church and society are saturated with division and social polarization. The Franciscan way suggests a three-step process: The first step would be the acknowledgment of the situation in which we live, one often marked by identity arguments, interest group politics, and cause advocacy. The second step would recognize the Franciscan tradition of the “formation of the human heart.” Lastly, naming the “strengths of the Holy Spirit” (virtues) that provide a path forward in this situation will mark one of the Franciscan contributions to synodality.
Program will be presented in the Auditorium. Free will donation.
