The Universal Call to Holiness in Today’s World: Discipleship in 2020

The Second Vatican Council called all the baptized to a life of holiness. This call is equally shared by each member of the church—not just the clergy or members of religious communities. In a historical context marked by political division, racial injustice, economic inequality, and a global pandemic, the universal call to holiness invites us to consider what it means to be a disciple of Jesus of Nazareth today.
This discussion will consider how the church’s identity as the Body of Christ in the world and the principles of Catholic Social Teaching can inform our discernment of this question today.
