On August 2, 2022, Bishop John P. Dolan was installed as the fifth bishop for the Diocese of Phoenix. He had previously served as the Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of San Diego. VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- The Catholic Church is not a "club" for the elderly; it needs the participation of young people to keep it alive and ensure it does not "grow old," Pope Francis said.
